Ranchi: CBI team has reached Sahibganj district to investigate the illegal mining case. A four-member CBI team will investigate illegal mining at Lemon Mountain. The CBI team will go to the court and then to the SC-ST police station around 10 am on Friday. Apart from this, she can also interrogate ED’s key witness Vijay Hansda and SP, DC and mining officer involved in mining.
On November 20, CBI had registered an FIR in the case of illegal mining at Lemon Mountain. CBI DSP Krishna Kumar Singh has been made the IO of this case. In its FIR, CBI has named Barhait MLA representative and main accused in the ED case Pankaj Mishra, businessman Vishnu Kumar Yadav, Pavitar Kumar Yadav, Sahibganj Zilla Parishad Vice President Rajesh Yadav, Sanjay Kumar Yadav, Bachchu Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, Suvesh Mandal and others, made accused.
CBI has taken over the court complaint filed by Vijay Hansda in Muffasil police station of Sahebganj district and the case 6/22 registered in ST-SC police station. A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Jharkhand Mines and Minerals Act, Arms Act and ST-SC Act.
Vijay Hansda had filed a petition in the High Court to get the illegal mining done in Sahibganj, Jharkhand investigated by the CBI. But later Vijay tried to withdraw his petition. After which the High Court registered a PE in the case and ordered the CBI to investigate.
The court had ordered CBI to investigate all aspects, after which CBI took over Vijay Hansda’s case related to illegal mining.
