Mumbai — Veteran actor and filmmaker Anupam Kher has shared a glimpse of his first-ever driving post on social media.
Taking to Instagram, the actor posted a video of himself behind the wheel, chatting with a friend seated beside him, who was also filming the moment.
In the caption, Anupam wrote: “My FIRST ever driving post! Jai Ho! ‘If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.’ Video shot by @herman0707!”
Meanwhile, the actor—whose latest film Tanvi The Great has been recently released—had the opportunity to meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at a special reception celebrating the UK–India partnership.
Sharing a photo of their meeting, Anupam wrote: “It was a pleasure meeting the British Prime Minister Mr. #KeirStarmer last night at the reception to celebrate the UK–INDIA partnership. His speech was warm and full of positive possibilities between the two countries.”
He further added that Starmer turned out to be a fan of his 2002 English-language film Bend It Like Beckham. “He also turned out to be a great admirer of my first English language film #BendItLikeBeckham! Thanks to the British High Commissioner Mr. Harjinder Kang for the invite!”
Directed by Gurinder Chadha, Bend It Like Beckham is a sports comedy-drama starring Parminder Nagra, Keira Knightley, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Anupam Kher, Juliet Stevenson, Shaznay Lewis, and Archie Panjabi. The film follows Jesminder Bhamra and Jules Paxton as they pursue their dreams of becoming professional footballers despite their parents’ disapproval.
Anupam’s current project, Tanvi The Great, features Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, Nasser, and Iain Glen. The story centers on a 21-year-old woman on the autism spectrum who lives with her mother and grandfather. Inspired by her late father, Captain Samar Raina—an Indian Army officer—she dreams of saluting the national flag at the Siachen Glacier.
