Ranchi: Buses will now run from rural and remote tribal areas of the state. It will start soon. These buses will connect rural areas to block, sub-division and district headquarters. There is a plan to run 250 buses in the first phase.
These buses will have many types of facilities.
CM Hemant Soren today held a high level meeting with the officials of the Transport Department regarding this Gram Gaadi Yojana. Gave many important instructions to the officers. The Chief Minister said that while determining the route of the Chief Minister Gram Gaadi Yojana, special attention should be paid to the places of public utility.
Under this scheme, routes for operation of buses should be determined in such a way that hospitals, schools, colleges, weekly markets and local markets and railway stations are located. This will provide a lot of convenience to the villagers in their transportation and the utility of this scheme will remain intact.
The Chief Minister said that an app should be prepared so that the villagers can get continuous information about the buses operated under this scheme. There should be such a system in this app that people can know when the bus will open. Where has the bus reached and when will it reach its destination? With this, villagers will not have to wait for buses due to lack of information.
He said that in order to maintain the utility of Mukhyamantri Gram Setu Yojana, it is necessary that there should be a strong system of citizen monitoring of the buses operated under this scheme so that no vehicle operator can take undue advantage of it. There is a plan to operate 250 buses in the first phase of this scheme.
Under this scheme, all senior citizens, school and college students, disabled, HIV positive, widows and Jharkhand agitators will get the facility of free travel in buses. Under this scheme, bus operators operating buses on prescribed routes will be given subsidy on vehicle purchase. Apart from this, permit and fitness fees will be waived.
