Brawl during tender filing at RMC, two groups clash with each other

Ranchi: A major brawl took place at the Ranchi Municipal Corporation when supporters of two groups clashed with each other over the filing of tenders due to which the tender process was called off and even police were called in.

RMC officials said that a tender was to be finalised for a food court in Atal Vendor Market, parking and a shop located at Pahadi Mandir.  In the afternoon three youths from a group came to file the tender which was objected to by the other contractors but as the youth remained adamant over filing the tender they were beaten up by the people who were already present there, somehow the youths managed to run away after which the police were informed.

A magistrate who was also appointed for the tender by the SDO however the magistrate Rajesh Soren reached late at the venue reached the venue two hours late and by the time the brawl had commenced.

On Wednesday the RMC has to finalise the tender of Gudri Bazaar while on Thursday for parking at six places at the main road the tender will be done, however, post the brawl the RMC has changed the tender spot and now all the tenders will be held at the city control room. Due to the brawl, other people who had reached the RMC office for their work also fled away. RMC has decided that it will float a fresh tender in this connection advertisement for it will be issued later.
