Bokaro: Rajesh Kumar Singh on Wednesday took over as the new DC of Bokaro, thus becoming the first blind DC to get charge of a district.
In a function held at the collectorate here he took charge from outgoing Bokaro DC Mukesh Kumar. Speaking on the occasion the new Bokaro DC said that for the first time Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Chief Secretary have given charge of a district to a blind officer for which he thanked the duo and exuded confidence that he would work hard to fulfill their hopes.
An IAS officer of 2007 batch Rajesh Singh said that he has already served as SDO and SDM but amid the challenging time of Coronavirus taking over as the DC would be indeed a challenging task.
The DC said if the will power is high than blindness will not come as an obstacle. He said that blindness is not a weakness but only sets him apart from other people, moreover, he said that will working he does not see the face but at the target.
Outgoing DC Mukesh Kumar said that new DC will continue to work for the betterment of the area. He said that transfer and posting is a routine job and gives an opportunity to work at different places and positions for the betterment of the people.
