Ranchi: A blood donation ceremony was held at Sadar Hospital on Tuesday, organized by the Blood Bank. The event was graced by Additional Director General of Police, Sanjay Lathkar, who attended as the chief guest. During the ceremony, a total of 81 institutions from various sectors were honored for their contributions to blood donation.
In his address, Chief Guest Sanjay Lathkar highlighted the numerous benefits of blood donation. He emphasized the importance of organizing blood donation camps by all institutions, as blood may be needed in any emergency situation. He pointed out that road accidents and other emergencies often require immediate blood supplies, and without sufficient blood, the injured may not survive.
Lathkar also stressed the need to strengthen blood banks and encouraged everyone to understand the significance of blood donation by participating themselves. “By donating blood, you not only help save lives but also contribute to building a healthier and happier society,” he said. He also mentioned that there are many individuals who have donated blood more than 25 to 100 times in their lives, setting an inspiring example for others.
