BJP’s Baghmara MLA Dhullu Mahto surrenders before court in Dhanbad

Dhanbad: BJP’s Baghmara MLA Dhullu Mahto who was on a run for the last couple of months on Monday surrendered before a local court here which forwarded him to judicial custody.

A female party worker had accused the MLA of harrassment and had filed a case after which he was on a run to evade the arrest. Mahto surrendered before the court of judicial magistrate of Dhanbad Sangeeta.

The surrender of the MLA also puts questioning for the style of functioning of the Dhanbad police as despite claiming to have conducted raids the police never managed to get near him. After power changed hands in state Dhullu Mahto had been in radar of the police who was wanting him in several other cases.

The police had also reached his home on many occasions but never managed to arrest him.

Earlier in the day a tweet was also put out on the Twitter handle of the MLA in which he said that from now on all his social media accounts will be handled by his family members.
