Ranchi: Jharkhand was plunged into mourning following the sudden demise of state Education Minister Ramdas Soren. Political leaders across party lines expressed deep sorrow and paid heartfelt tributes, recalling his contributions to education, tribal welfare, and public service. His death comes as a double blow to the state, still reeling from the loss of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren.
BJP state president and leader of opposition Babulal Marandi paid floral tributes to Ramdas Soren’s mortal remains at the Vidhan Sabha premises. He described Soren as a leader of simple and humble nature, calling his death an irreparable loss to the state. Marandi said Ramdas Soren had carved a distinct identity in the politics of the Kolhan region and always stood for the welfare of tribal and marginalised communities. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and extended strength and courage to his family and supporters in this time of grief. BJP general secretary and MP Aditya Sahu also paid his respects at the Assembly and offered prayers for Soren’s soul.
Congress state president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh visited the Assembly and offered floral tributes, saying the state has lost a soft-spoken, humble and people-centric leader. He praised Soren’s efforts to strengthen the education sector and amplify the voice of tribal communities, calling his contributions unforgettable. Kamlesh added that Ramdas Soren devoted his entire political life to public service and fought for the rights of the underprivileged and backward sections of society.
Congress leaders including deputy leader Rajesh Kacchap, finance minister Radhakrishna Kishore, agriculture minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey, MLAs Suresh Baitha and Naman Viksal Bhandu Tirkey, and senior leaders Subodh Kant Sahay, Badal Patralekh, Satish Paul Mujhni, Kedar Paswan, Shashi Bhushan Rai and Alok Dubey also paid tribute to the late minister.
Leaders noted that replacing a committed social worker and effective public leader like Ramdas Soren would not be easy. They prayed for eternal peace for his soul and strength for his family and followers to bear the loss.
