Ranchi, Jul 3: Stating that the day was a historic one for the state
as the martyrdom spot of Bhagwan Birsa Mund who laid down his life
fighting against the British Rule is being converted into a park which
would not only serve as a tourist spot but also as an inspirational
place for the people.
Addressing the people after laying foundation stones for building the
Birsa Smriti Park, beautification of Bada Talaab, building of RMC,
Ramgarh Nargar Parishad and Khunti Nagar Panchayat at a function
orgnaised at the Birsa Munda Jail premises he said that with the
development of the park people would come to know about him and the
future generation would be made aware of his thoughts, ulgulan and
sacrifices.
He said that the previous governments only credited one particular
family for leading the freedom struggle movement of the nation and
other great men were ignored. He said that it was the NDA government
of Prime Minister AtalBihari Vajpayee who in 1998 installed the statue
of Bhagwan Birsa Munda at the Parliament and the present government of
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has named the Dharti Aaba Express train
on his name. Mr Das said that for his party all freedom fighters are
equal and his government would tell the stories of these great men to
the people.
