Ramgarh : Ramgarh Police achieved a major success in its crackdown on organized crime by arresting six members of the notorious Rahul Dubey gang and taking a juvenile into custody. The operation led to the seizure of a loaded country-made pistol, live ammunition, and motorcycles from the accused.
The action was carried out after police received confidential inputs regarding suspicious criminal activity in the Patratu region. Under the direction of SP Mukesh Lunayat, a special team launched a raid and arrested the suspects.
Those arrested include Vikas Sao, Vishal Kumar, Bittu Kumar Ravi, Hiralal Kumar, Digambar Prajapati alias Dagan, and Ehtesham Ansari alias Dularbh, while one minor was also detained.
According to police, organized gangs had been involved in several criminal incidents across Ramgarh district over the past few months. To investigate these cases, a special task force headed by the Patratu SDPO had been constituted.
During the operation conducted on May 25, police learned that several gang members had gathered in the Patratu police station area to plan a major crime. Based on technical surveillance and human intelligence, the police team cordoned off the area and arrested all seven individuals.
Interrogation revealed that the accused were working under the instructions of gangster Rahul Dubey and his associates. They confessed to their involvement in earlier firing incidents at the Patratu railway flyover gate, the Om Dairy plot gate, and the UltraTech Cement plant, where the attacks were allegedly carried out to create fear and extort money.
Police said the gang members were once again planning a serious criminal incident in the Patratu area before they were arrested.
