Barnwal orders to send block programme officer of Amrapada to jail

Ranchi, Jul 25: Jharkhand’s Industries and IT Department Secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal ordered that the block programme officer of Amrapada block of Pakur district be sent to jail for mismanagement of funds worth Rs five lakh.

Chairing the weekly review at the Jansamwad Kendra at the Suchana Bhawan here he said that the officer Gautam Kumar should be also removed from his post and a case should be filed on him for recovery of the amount. A total of 11 complaints were reviewed by him during the programme.

Over a complaint by one Chandrakal Devi of Ranchi who said that her land had been forcibly occupied by her neighbor Mr Barnwal directed the Dc to ensure that the land is returned from illegal occupation within 15 days. Over a complaint from Kasida village of East Singhbhum district he asked the executive engineer to increase the height of the electricity pole as people had built their homes just below the line. He also directed to submit a report in this regard in 15 days.

In another complaint from West Singhbhum it was pointed out that a fourth grade employee posted at FCI was missing from August 30, 2016 and was yet to be traced. Expressing anguish over the delay in locating the man he asked the DSP to submit a report in 15days over the case. He also asked the nodal officers of the women and child development department and food and civil supplies department to apprise4 the principal secretaries of their concerned departments regarding the complaints of the people and also asked them to raise the matter before the Chief Minister during the Siddhi Baat programme.
