Barnwal holds Jansamwad review; instructs to provide job to a woman

Ranchi, Jun 13: Chairing the weekly Jan Samwad review programme at the
Suchana Bhawan here Secretary to the Chief Minister Sunil Kumar
Barnwal ordered to provide job to Manira Rani Dey of Jamtara district
within a week on compassionate grounds.
He asked the nodal officer of the School Education and Literacy
Department to be more sensitive and said that it was a matter of great
shame that despite 11 years the widow of Devashish Chand who died as a
teacher while posted at Afzalpur middle school has to run to get a
job. He said that it was due to this insensitive nature of the
officials the government’s image takes a dent and there was a need to
bring change in the mentality.
A total of 10 complaints were reviewed by him during the programme.
Over a complaint from Bangarkala of Giridih where it was pointed on
the land of Radheshyam Barnwal  road has been constructed forcefully
in which FIR has been registered against 11 people. He said that nodal
officer should not only ensure that the man gets his land but also
take back the money paid to the contractor. Over a complaint from
Ranchi where the complainant said that despite paying the money teh
builder was not handing over the flat, he asked the DSP to  make sure
that the flat is registered within a week and a report submitted
alongwith the action taken.
For being negligent in work he also issued show cause notices to the
nodal officials of the Women and Child Development Department and
Urban Development and Housing Department while nodal official of power
department was given a week’s time to improve his performance.
Similarly the nodal officials of Palamu and Pakur were also given a
week’s time to improve their work. Mr Barnwal asked the officials to
take action against the negligent officers or be ready to face action
themselves. Taking serious cognisance of the issue of Urabn
development department to being dependent on computer operator to
solve the complaints he asked the officials to write a letter to
personnel department in this regard.
