Ranchi: Bagless Day will start in 13664 secondary schools of Jharkhand from the month of November. The Education Department is going to launch this scheme on Saturday with the aim of relieving children of the burden of school bags and increasing their inclination towards vocational education. This program will be run for children of classes 6 to 8 of 13664 schools of the state.
There will be Bagless Day in schools on Saturday and on that day 1472615 children of middle schools will reach school without bags and participate in extracurricular activities. On the day of Bagless Day, apart from yoga, exercise and sports activities, students will be given information about 11 types of vocational education in schools.
For this, the school management will take students on industrial visit on every Bagless Day. Children will be taken on a tour of industrial areas and different commercial areas located around the school. They will get information about business like art and craft, crockery, songs and music in the field itself. After this these professional things will be included in the curriculum.
Jharkhand Education Project Council has started preparations in full swing regarding Bagless Day and vocational education. For this, master trainers of all the districts are being trained. By October 19, three master trainers from all the districts will be trained and sent to their respective districts. There, these master trainers will give training to the teachers of their district.
Program Coordinator of Jharkhand Education Project Council, Swapnil Kujur said that children of sixth, seventh and eighth classes will be included in the Bagless Day. They will be given 11 types of vocational education. Training for these professional courses is being given to master trainers. He said that in today’s era, overall development of children along with education is necessary. This program which is being started to develop the skills of children and tell them the importance of vocational education is very important.
