Ranchi: A hearing was held in the High Court on Tuesday on the PIL filed for the demand of investigation of illegal appointment in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. During this, the court expressed displeasure over not presenting the report of Justice Vikramaditya Prasad Committee.
The court said that if the report of Justice Vikramaditya Prasad Committee is not presented till the next hearing, then the assembly secretary will have to appear physically before the court. The hearing will now be held on August 16 in the division bench of Jharkhand High Court Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen. Shiv Shankar Sharma has filed a public interest litigation in the High Court in connection with the illegal appointment in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly.
It is said in the petition that between the year 2005 and 2007, there was a disturbance in the appointment in the assembly. Justice Vikramaditya Prasad Commission was first formed to investigate the matter. The commission had also submitted the report to the Governor in the year 2018 after conducting the investigation. After which the governor had directed the assembly speaker to take action. But so far no action has been taken on this.
