Ranchi: Major General Arun Rajesh Moghe and Major General Paramveer Singh Dagar met with Chief Minister Hemant Soren at his residential office on Kanke Road and extended a formal invitation for him to attend the upcoming Durand Cup football tournament.
The tournament is scheduled to be held in July in Jamshedpur. The army officers invited the Chief Minister to attend the event as a guest of honour. Major General Arun Rajesh Moghe, recipient of the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM), currently serves at the Eastern Command Headquarters and is also the Vice Chairman of the Durand Cup organizing committee. Major General Paramveer Singh Dagar, also a recipient of the Vishisht Seva Medal, serves as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 23 Infantry Division.
The meeting underscored the continued collaboration between the Indian Armed Forces and the state government in promoting sports and fostering civil-military relations through prestigious events like the Durand Cup.
