Anti Human Trafficking Units to be formed in four districts

Ranchi: The state government has decided to set up Anti Human Trafficking Units in Latehar, Sahebganj, Godda and Giridih districts.

An official release issued here on Monday said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren has given his consent to the proposal. These units will have the jurisdiction of operations in the entire district. These units will be working for checking trafficking, providing security to victims and also keep a record of criminals and gangs involved in human trafficking.

Following the directions of the Central Government in all the districts, AHTU has to be formed. Presently the units are functioning in Ranchi, Khunti, Simdega, Lohardaga, Gumla, Palamu, Chaibasa and Dumka while the process was on to set up these units in remaining districts.
