Ranchi: Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey attended Christmas get-together organised by All Churches Combined Christian Association at Amar Shaheed Sheikh Bhikhari Stadium in Heshmi under Mandar block on Wednesday.
Christmas was celebrated with cake cutting by minister amid festive atmosphere. Association organised colourful cultural programmes at stadium, drawing large participation from local residents and members of Christian community.
Addressing gathering, Shilpi Neha Tirkey said December holds special significance as it is month of love, affection, joy and celebration. She said Christmas brings people together and strengthens bonds of harmony and mutual respect in society. Referring to Christian faith, she said its core values are service, love and sacrifice, which guide people towards welfare of humanity.
Minister said Christian community has played a vital role in nation-building, especially in fields of education and healthcare. Spirit of service, compassion towards others and dedication to society reflect highest form of religion, she added.
Several prominent members including Jaywant Tigga, Pankaj Tirkey, Amlan Minz, Pitroos Khalkho, F Khalkho, Manga Uraon, Devnish Tigga, Alok, Jeevan Minz, Serafina Minz, Belash Toppo, Azad, Abid, Ishroz and Shamim were present during programme.
