Additional 700 police jawans deployed in capital for Diwali, apart from Diwali to look into Covid guidelines

Ranchi: To ensure that the festivals of Diwali and Chhath pass away smoothly in the capital more than 700 police jawans have been deployed in Ranchi while in every area magistrates and police officials have been posted. An order in this direction has been issued by the district administration.

This time apart from the security aspect the jawans will also make sure that Covid guidelines are properly followed. Security arrangements have been also made for Kali Puja to be organised in 15 places in the city. The district administration has identified six dams and reservoirs for immersion of the idols.

Further in a total of 36 areas including Church Road, AG Mode to Hinoo Chowk, Karamtoli Chowk to Hotlips Chowk, Kantatoli to Bahu Bazaar bike squads have been positioned. In all these areas two bikes each will be stationed and the policemen have been directed to keep moving from one area to another and in case of any issue which may come in their way they should inform the nearest police station and the control room. To tackle any emergency situation in five places in the city QRTs have been positioned including those at Booty Mode, Albert Ekka Chowk, Piska Mode, Birsa Chowk and Chandni Chowk.

Similarly at 57 other important places and chowks of the city police jawans have been positioned. These jawans have been deputed at these places along with police officers of the concerned area.
