Mumbai: Actress Palak Tiwari has opened up about the unique bond she shares with her mother, veteran television star Shweta Tiwari, saying that despite being a celebrated actress herself, Shweta has never tried to influence her career choices.
In an interaction with IANS, Palak spoke about the guidance she receives from her mother and revealed that Shweta always encourages her to trust her instincts as an actor.
Talking about her mother’s approach, Palak said that Shweta’s career decisions became timeless because they were driven purely by instinct and not outside influence. She added that her mother believes an actor’s gut feeling is their biggest strength.
Palak further shared that Shweta never interferes in her professional decisions and instead asks whether a project genuinely connects with her emotionally.
“She always asks me if I truly want to do something because our journeys are very different,” Palak said, explaining that her mother’s life experiences and upbringing are completely different from her own.
The actress added that both of them relate to different kinds of stories as performers because they come from different generations and personal experiences. According to Palak, Shweta understands this well and only advises her to choose stories that genuinely resonate with her.
“She tells me that if a story connects with me on some level, then I should do it,” Palak shared.
For the unversed, Shweta Tiwari remains one of Indian television’s most popular faces even after more than two decades in the industry. She is still widely remembered for her iconic role as Prerna in the hit TV show Kasautii Zindagii Kay. She has also appeared in successful shows like Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi.
Meanwhile, Palak made her Bollywood debut with Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan alongside Salman Khan in 2023. She was recently seen in the OTT drama Lukkhe, which also featured King and Raashii Khanna.
