New Delhi: Government-backed e-commerce platform DigiHaat has launched ‘Swadeshi’, a dedicated marketplace aimed at promoting authentic Made-in-Bharat products and supporting local producers across the country.
Owned by Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), the initiative aligns with the vision of building an Atmanirbhar Bharat through Swadeshi-focused commerce.
The new marketplace, integrated within the DigiHaat app, will allow consumers to directly purchase products from artisans, farmer groups, self-help groups (SHGs), NGOs, and Indian brands.
The platform will showcase a wide range of Bharat-made products, including food grains, seeds, apparel, handicrafts, home décor items, bags, and other daily essentials.
According to DigiHaat, more than 2,000 artisans and over 1,100 farmer groups from across India are already connected to the platform.
Speaking about the initiative, Rahul Vij said the marketplace aims to strengthen India’s economic ecosystem by creating a direct link between local producers and consumers. He added that every purchase made through the platform would help support grassroots enterprises, reduce dependence on global supply chains, and contribute to the vision of a self-reliant India.
The company said ‘Swadeshi’ is designed around the philosophy of “Bharat Se, Bharat Tak”, with the goal of becoming a nationwide platform for locally produced goods.
Earlier in April, DigiHaat expanded its services by introducing metro ticket booking in cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru as part of its broader push to evolve into a unified digital commerce platform.
The platform also crossed 2 million downloads last month and built a community of more than 30,000 users across its channels.
Apart from e-commerce services, DigiHaat also offers food delivery and ride-hailing services through partner networks such as Bharat Taxi and Namma Yatri.
DigiHaat operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary within the ONDC ecosystem under Nirmit Bharat.
