Jamshedpur: A pre-dawn road accident near Rang Gate in the Jugsalai police station area of Jamshedpur on Thursday left a car badly damaged after it rammed into a roadside tree.
The vehicle was carrying a family returning from a marriage ceremony in Seraikela to their home in Lupungtola, Sarjamda.
According to initial reports, the driver is believed to have dozed off briefly due to fatigue, causing the vehicle to lose control and crash.
The impact was severe, leaving the car extensively damaged.
In the course of the accident, the car also struck a couple in bike passing by.
Fortunately, the couple escaped with minor injuries. Local residents rushed to the spot, assisted the injured, and helped manage the situation until further support arrived.
Eyewitnesses noted that the accident could have been avoided had the vehicle been moving at a lower speed.
The incident once again highlights the dangers of drowsy driving and the critical need for adequate rest during long journeys.
Police have initiated an investigation and are examining the driver’s condition along with other contributing factors.
