Mumbai: Bollywood star Shraddha Kapoor showered praise on her “maasi,” veteran actress Padmini Kolhapure, after the latter shared a soulful singing video on social media.
Padmini took to Instagram to post a clip of herself singing the classic track “Madhuban Khushboo Deta Hai” from her 1978 film Sajan Bina Suhagan. The nostalgic performance, featuring her soothing voice, was captioned simply: “Just for you.”
Reacting to the post, Shraddha couldn’t hold back her admiration and commented, “Such sweet sweeeeeeet singing,” cheering on her aunt’s musical talent.
A prominent name in the 1980s, Kolhapure has enjoyed a prolific career spanning over four decades, appearing in more than 75 films. She began acting as a child artist in the early 1970s and gained recognition with films like Zindagi and Dream Girl. Her breakthrough came with Satyam Shivam Sundaram, where she played the younger version of the lead character.
Meanwhile, Shraddha, daughter of veteran actor Shakti Kapoor, made her Bollywood debut with a small role in Teen Patti (2010) before landing her first lead in Luv Ka The End (2011). She rose to fame with Aashiqui 2 and went on to star in several successful films including Haider, Ek Villain, ABCD 2, Baaghi, Chhichhore, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, and Saaho, along with the popular Stree franchise.
Looking ahead, she is set to return in Stree 3, slated for release in August 2027. She will also headline a biopic on legendary Marathi folk artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar, titled Eetha, and feature in the upcoming film Nagin, produced by Nikhil Dwivedi.
