Ajay Devgn joins viral ‘90s nostalgia trend, shares throwback glimpse

Mumbai: Riding the wave of social media nostalgia, Ajay Devgn has hopped onto the viral “What were you like in the ’90s?” trend, offering fans a charming throwback to his early days in cinema.

The actor took to Instagram to share a fun video featuring his son Yug. The clip begins with the text, “Dad, what were you like in the 90s?” and transitions into a montage of Devgn’s iconic looks from his films during that decade—an era that cemented his stardom.

Adding a playful touch, he captioned the post: “Beta, 2026 you could never match up to the 90s me.”

The trend, which has taken over social media platforms, sees users revisiting their ‘90s memories through photos or videos, often set to the song Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls.

On the professional front, Devgn was last seen in De De Pyaar De 2 alongside Rakul Preet Singh and R. Madhavan. He is now gearing up for the release of Dhamaal 4, the next installment in the popular comedy franchise.

Originally scheduled for a March release, Dhamaal 4 has been postponed twice and is now set to hit theatres on July 3. The shift was made to avoid a box-office clash with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, and Toxic, featuring Yash.

Directed by Indra Kumar, the film brings back franchise regulars like Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Mishra, and Jaaved Jaaferi, along with several new additions to the cast.

The Dhamaal franchise began in 2007 with its first film and has since grown into a fan-favourite comedy series with sequels released in 2011 and 2019.
