Seven dead in Jharkhand air ambulance crash; Irfan Ansari calls incident ‘very serious’, seeks probe

New Delhi- Calling the Chatra air ambulance crash a “very serious and unfortunate” event, Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari confirmed that all seven passengers on board were killed when the aircraft crashed in a dense forest area of Chatra.

The minister said the aircraft, which had taken off from Ranchi to transport a patient to Delhi, lost radar contact shortly after establishing communication with air traffic control. Despite extensive search and rescue efforts by police and disaster response teams, there were no survivors.

Raising questions over repeated aviation mishaps, Ansari said accountability must be fixed and added that patients from Jharkhand are compelled to travel outside the state for treatment due to the lack of advanced healthcare infrastructure. A detailed probe into the crash has been initiated, and further findings are awaited.
