Bandhu asks CBI to go public with recoveries made from his homes

Ranchi: A day after CBI searched two locations of former sports minister Bandhu Tikery as part of the investigation of the 34th National Games scam, the former Mandar MLA has asked the investigating agency to bring all the recoveries from his locations into the public domain.

Addressing a press conference here he said it was necessary to save his proper image among the public. Tirkey said the CBI’s action within 24 hours of the declaration of the Mandar bye-election and wide media publicity raise doubts about the intention of the investigating agency. He said it was not the first time when the investigating agency was acted at the time of the election.

Earlier also, he said, he was arrested by the investigating agency and sent to jail a few days before the 2019 assembly election. Bandhu said that a conspiracy is being hatched against him and a recent conviction in a case of the disproportionate
case is its outcome.

He said he was framed as earlier the agency did not find anything in the case and submitted its closure report. Bandhu was in New Delhi when the CBI carried out a search operation at his ancestral home at Banhaura for three hours and his official residence at Morhabadi which lasted for nine hours.
