Secretary Finance Amit Khare said that during the fiscal year 2016-17
till March 23 a sum of Rs 30,439.59 crore had been spent which was 83
pc of the total budgetary allocation of Rs 36,673.91 crore.
Compared to the previous years of the the expenditure was far higher
and going by the trend it is expected that by March 31, more than 90
pc of the expenditure would be done.
He said that in fiscal 2015-16 till March 31, 2016 a sum of Rs 31,
287.08 crore was spent which also included Rs 6,136.37 crore as loan
payment under the UDAY Yojana.
Mr Khare said that the department s which have so far spent more 85 pc
of the budetory allocation included Urban Development and housing
(99.03 pc), road construction (98.73 pc), transport (96.06 pc), rural
development (95 pc), drinking water and sanitation (93.70 pc) IT
(92.92 pc), panchayati raj (91.45 pc), Planning (88.64 pc) and forest
and environment (85.30 pc).
