Ranchi: In a tragic incident in Hazaribagh district on Friday, four people lost their lives after being struck by lightning during a heavy rainstorm. The incident occurred in two areas: one death was reported from Churachu block, while three others died in Padma village, located in Padma block. The victims were identified as Nandlal Saho, Shivpoojan Saho, and Rajkumar Saho, all aged between 30 and 32 years.
Sudhir Kumar, a relative of the deceased from Padma, shared that the family had recently bought a four-wheeler. The family had gone to Bhadrakali temple for prayers, and on Friday, they planned to visit Chhinnamastika temple in Rajrappa for another prayer session. As part of their ritual, they went to buy a goat for sacrifice, when the heavy rain suddenly began, and the three men were struck by lightning.
After the incident, the family rushed the victims to a private hospital in Hazaribagh, where doctors confirmed their deaths. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination.
The village is now engulfed in mourning, and the families of the victims are inconsolable. Ranjan Chaudhary, media in-charge of the Hazaribagh MP, visited the hospital and informed that he has already contacted MP Manish Jaiswal and is working with the administration to ensure the victims’ families receive appropriate compensation.
