31 girls being trafficked to Tamil Nadu rescued in Latehar

Latehar: Thirty one girls including nine minors who were being taken to work in a thread factory in Tamilnadu have been caught from Dadha village under Balumath Police Station area of this district.

Balumath CO Ravi Kumar on Wednesday said that girls from Latehar, Lohardaga, Ranchi, Simdega districts were being taken to work in a mill in Tamilnadu however the bus did not have any relevant documents related to taking away of girls nor had any valid documentation from the factory.

The CO said that a trafficker identified as Shiva Oraon was taking these girls with a promise of providing them Rs 9,000 per month. The police team has also caught the driver and co-driver of the bus but they do not know Hindi.

The girls who have been rescued have been kept at Kasturba Balika School Balumath. Further probe was on.
