Deoghar: In a meaningful outreach effort, the Inner Wheel Club of Deoghar conducted a large food distribution drive at Sadar Hospital, serving free, nutritious meals to nearly 300 patients and their attendants. The initiative was carried out under its flagship programme, “Annapurna,” led by Club President Gyan Mishra.
A Celebration with a Purpose
The drive was sponsored by former Club President Sarita Agarwal to mark her wedding anniversary. Instead of a private celebration, she chose to give back to the community—an act that fellow members described as thoughtful and inspiring.
Sustained Support for the Needy
Over time, Project “Annapurna” has become a key part of the club’s service activities, focusing on ensuring that patients and their families at medical facilities have access to meals. The initiative is supported by the Sheel Foundation through its Food Service Center.
Rakesh Kumar Verma appreciated the club’s continued efforts, noting that their consistency in community service sets a strong example. He also expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to grow.
Active Member Participation
The drive saw active involvement from several members, including Secretary Kanchan Murti Sah, along with Rupa Chhawchharia and Surbhi Agarwal.
The initiative received positive feedback from both hospital authorities and the public, reinforcing the club’s role as a reliable support system for the Deoghar community.
