3-membal panel to finalise Republic Day tableau, says Chief Secy – Focus on Maaiyan Samman, road safety tableau

Ranchi: A review meeting for the preparations of Republic Day 2025 was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari. During the meeting, she emphasized that the tableau at the Republic Day parade should reflect the true character and identity of Jharkhand. She also instructed that the Maaiyan Samman Yojana and road safety should be included in the tableau.

Tiwari proposed the formation of a committee for selecting the theme and presentation of the tableaux. A three-member committee was formed, consisting of Agriculture Secretary Abu Bakr Siddiqui, Tourism Secretary Manoj Kumar, and Director of Information and Public Relations Department Rajeev Lochan Bakshi.

It was decided that the tableaux of 12-13 departments, approved by the committee, would be showcased during the ceremony. The Chief Secretary also directed the Deputy Commissioners of Dumka and Ranchi to ensure the timely printing and distribution of invitation letters for the event.

The meeting covered several key aspects of the celebrations, including cleaning and decoration of important statues in Ranchi and Dumka, arrangements for arrival of the chief guest and special invitees, setting up the stage, seating arrangements, sound systems, drinking water, sanitation, traffic and parking arrangements, medical services, fire safety, distribution of awards and certificates, and security arrangements. A comprehensive review of these arrangements was done.

The Chief Secretary also directed improvements in the quality of the LED screens at Morhabadi Ground. On a proposal by the Director of Information and Public Relations, the exhibition of Jharkhand’s traditional musical instruments as part of the tableau was approved. DGP Anurag Gupta suggested incorporating cyber security into the tableau.

Additionally, it was decided that the Republic Day parade would feature platoons from the Army, CISF, CRPF, SSV, JAP, district forces, NDRF, and fire brigades. The bands of Army, CRPF, and JAP will also participate. The rehearsal for the parade is scheduled to take place between January 18 and 24.

The meeting was attended by Home Secretary Vandana Dadel, DGP Anurag Gupta, Principal Secretary of Drinking Water and Sanitation Mast Ram Meena, Agriculture Secretary Abu Bakr Siddiqui, Tourism Secretary Manoj Kumar, Transport Secretary Kripanand Jha, Rural Development Secretary K. Srinivasan, South Chotanagpur Commissioner Anjani Mishra, Director of Information and Public Relations Rajeev Lochan Bakshi, IG Campaign  AB Homkar, and other senior officials.
