Ranchi: Jharkhand govt has set a target that two lakhs will be benefited under Jharkhand Chief Minister Job scheme. More than 6000 youths have already benefited from the schemes. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s efforts to simplify the Employment Generation Scheme are proving to be a boon for self-employed Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, backward and minorities.
Now the youths under self-employment schemes have become job providers instead of job seekers. In the last two financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23, the government has provided a loan of Rs 104.97 crore to 6272 youths across the state for self-employment under provisions of the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Scheme.
In the current financial year 2023-24, a target has been set to benefit about two lakh youth from this scheme. The majority of the beneficiaries of the scheme are from East Singhbhum. As many as 940 youths here got the benefit of the scheme and an amount of 6.26 crores was released to them for self-employment.
As many as 657 youths of Dumka got the benefit of the scheme and they were given a loan of Rs 11.66 crore for self-employment. In Hazaribagh, an amount of Rs 7.31 crore was issued as a loan to 567 youths.
