Daltonganj: Angry villagers gheraoed the officer incharge of Kishunpur OP accusing him of not taking any action despite concrete information being provided in connection prohibited meat in Bardiha village.
The villagers claimed that on Friday itself incharge for Kisunpur OP Murari Das was provided information over the matter but he did not take any action. On Saturday the villagers got further agitated following which police arrived in the village.
As soon as people saw Murari Das they surrounded him. It took the intervention of Medninagar SDPO Sandeep Gupta who pacified the villagers and ensured the release of the policeman.
The SDPO said that two people have been arrested in connection with possession of prohibited meat while the sample has been also sent for tests. He said that following orders from Palamu SP Ajay Linda police officer Murari Das has been relieved and sent to police lines.
