16 accused of inter-provincial cybercrime gang arrested in Bokaro

Bokaro:  Sector 12 police station of Bokaro district in Jharkhand conducted a raid and arrested 16 accused of cyber-crime living in a rented house near Bari Cooperative Colony.

Police sources said that the police had received secret information that Sector 12 Some suspects are living in a rented house around Bari Cooperative Colony of the police station area and they are collecting huge amounts of money from people by committing cybercrimes.

On the orders of Superintendent of Police Alok Priyadarshi under the leadership of police station in-charge Dular Chaude, 15 policemen raided Bari Cooperative and surrounding areas of the police station area and arrested 31-year-old Chandan Kumar, 18-year-old Vikram Kumar, 25-year-old Niwas Kumar, 21-year-old Sandeep Kumar, 18 from Bihar.

Vishal Kumar, 41, Sanjay Kumar, 31, Kanhaiya Kumar, 36, Ranjit Kumar, 50, Praveen Kumar, Jitendra 38, Omprakash Kumar Pandey, 32, Rajesh Bharti, 38, Sanjeev Kumar, 40, Dilkhush Kumar, 22. , 23-year-old Piyush Parasar, 30-year-old Jitendra Kumar.

All the accused are residents of Nalanda, Nawada, Jamui, Barbigha, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai districts of Bihar state.

Police have recovered a huge quantity of mobile phones, SIM cards, coupon cards, post barcodes, rubber stamps, fake notes, empty envelopes from the accused.

Police said that the main accused of the gang, Sumit Kumar, resident of Patna, is absconding. Police are trying to arrest him.

The arrested accused were living in a rented house in Bari Cooperative for the last several months and used to contact people through mobile phones and fraudulently withdraw huge amounts of money from their accounts by asking them to make purchases or win the lottery.

Police said that people from many states of the country have been made victims of fraud by the said gang.

The police are investigating this matter closely.
