14 injured following clash between villagers and police in Kasmar of Bokaro after four wheeler runs down boy

Ranchi: Fourteen people including nine policemen and four villages were injured following a crash in Bagda village under Kasmar police station area of this district after a speeding four wheeler hit two boys in which one of them died while another sustained serious injuries.

Post the incident the driver and another person who were seated in the four wheeler managed to flee where as assistant of Bokaro DC Rajesh Singh was caught by the villagers and thrashed by the angry mob. After receiving information a police team reached on the spot and tried to rescue Ajit Pandey which was protested by the villagers after which police ordered lathi charge  The villages too retaliated with stone pelting and in the incident 9 policemen and 4 villages where injured and all of them have been admitted at Bokaro General Hospital.

Among the injured two policemen have been admitted in the ICU. The deceased has been identified as Ashish Kumar (8). Ashish along with his elder brother was riding on a bicycle towards their home during which they were run over by the speeding car. Both the brothers were taken to the hospital where the doctors declared Asish dead while condition of his elder brother was stated to be serious and has been admitted at the Bokaro General Hospital.
