Result in Dumka and Bermo is stamp over Sarna religious code says JMM, outcome on expected lines maintains Cong

Ranchi: After the JMM and Congress went on to retain Dumka and Bermo seats respectively the party leaders have claimed that they were confident of victory of Mahagathbandhan on both the seats.

Addressing a press conference JMM spokesperson and general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said that the verdict on these two seats was a stamp on the stand adopted by the state government over the Sarna religious code as the Adivasis and the Moolvasis have ensured victory for both the candidates.

He said that verdict as strengthening the democracy as people have rejected the false and fake propaganda of the BJP. He said that three former Chief Ministers of the BJP had campaigned in Dumka and had termed the bypolls as a test on the performance of the state government.

Bhattacharya said that for 6 years the Tribal Affairs Ministry has remained with Jharkhand at the Centre but BJP and their leaders have only cheated and mislead the Adivasis and Moolvasis of the state.

He said that the bypolls were not a litmus test for the government as on these two seats people had earlier also given their blessings to the Mahagathbandhan. He said that for the next four years the government will continue to work with the same dedication.

On the other hand, JPCC Chief and Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon and other Congress leaders said that the results of Dumka and Bermo were as per the expectations. He said that people of two constituencies once again have shown their faith in the two parties.

CLP leader Aalamgir Aalam said that the manner in which the leaders of the BJP had made false claims it has been rejected by the people and is also reflected in the polls. In the JPCC headquarters, the party workers brusted fire crackers and distributed seats as part of victory celebrations.
