Former minister Enos Ekka granted one month parole

Ranchi: Former Minister Enos Ekka who was lodged at the Hotwar Jail on Wednesday walked out on parole of one month.

The former minister had requested parole to cater to his household matters which was approved by the court. Ekka has been asked to surrender after a month.

Enos Ekka is undergoing imprisonment in two cases including one related to the murder of a para teacher and another related to a DA case. The former minister had got elected from the Kolibera seat of Jharkhand Assembly on three occasions including 2005, 2009, and 2014 and had also served as a cabinet minister in the Madhu Koda government.

He was awarded life imprisonment on July 3, 2018, in connection with the murder of para teacher Manoj Kumar which had taken place in 2014 while a special CBI court had awarded seven years of rigorous imprisonment to him in a DA case on February 26, 2020.
