Ranchi: IPS officer of Jharkhand Cadre Alok died due to Cancer.
He was 51. He had recently returned from Taiwan after getting his treatment done. IPS Alok had also served on the posts of SP Garhwa and Khunti.
Alok had been selected as DSP at the time of unified Bihar through BPSC in the year 1999 and post the separation he came into Jharkhand cadre. In the year 2016 he was promoted as IPS and was given the batch of 2010.
During his stint as Khunti SP his health had declined and in the course of treatment he was diagnosed for Cancer. For the last one year he had been battling Cancer and Tuesday late night his condition declined following which he was admitted at a private hospital in capital where he died.
Later his mortal remains were brought at the JAP Grounds where Chief Minister Hemant Soren paid his tributes to the late IPS officer. The Chief Minister also interacted with his family members.
DGP MV Rao and other senior officials also paid their tributes to the departed officer.
