Yellow alert of heat wave in Jharkhand till April 27, temperature to cross 40 degrees – MeT Department

Ranchi:  The Meteorological Department in Jharkhand has issued a heat wave alert from Wednesday till April 27. Kolhan division is among the areas of the state which are most at risk of heat waves. This mainly includes the areas of Eastern and Western Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan. The risk of heat waves is increasing in these areas.

In view of the rising temperature here, the Meteorological Department has appealed to remain alert and has issued a yellow alert today. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a danger of a heat wave in Kolhan Pramadal till April 25.

Whereas on April 26, the danger of heat waves is increasing in Kolhan as well as in Bokaro, Dhanbad districts of North Chhotanagpur division, Jamtara, Dumka, Pakur, Godda and Sahibganj of Santhal. On April 27, it increased in Kolhan, North Chhotanagpur, Santhal districts. At the same time, it is also increasing in many other districts.

Gradually the danger of hit waves is increasing in the entire state. However, there is a possibility of some relief from the heat wave from April 28. During this period, the maximum temperature in the state is likely to be 40 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be 26 degrees Celsius.

If we look at the temperature of the last 24 hours in the state, light to moderate rain with strong wind has been recorded at many places in the state. Latehar and Jagannathpur have received maximum rainfall in the state. The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Baharagora, which was 43.6 degrees Celsius.

While the lowest temperature in the state was recorded at 23.5 degrees Celsius in Seraikela. Daltenganj recorded a drop of 4.8 degrees Celsius in maximum temperature in the last 24 hours. While the minimum temperature in Chaibasa has increased by 6.7 degrees Celsius, the maximum temperature in Ranchi has also declined by 3.6 degrees Celsius.

The data of the last 24 hours shows that a drop in the maximum temperature has been recorded in many districts of the state. The biggest drop in maximum temperature has occurred in Garhwa where a drop of 8.2 degrees Celsius has been recorded in the maximum temperature.

The temperature in most of the districts of the state has fallen below the 40 degree mark. The places where the maximum temperature is still crossing the 40 mark include Seraikela where the maximum temperature is 42.2 degrees Celsius, Pakur 41.7 degrees Celsius, Baharagora 43.6 degrees Celsius, Godda 41.1 degrees Celsius. The risk of heat waves is highest in these areas where the temperature is crossing the 40 mark.
