Ranchi: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) celebrated World Environment Day with zest and fervor at Darbhanga House, Ranchi. Besides, various activities were organized across the different operational areas of the company to mark World Environment Day.
A program was organized at CCL head6 in which CMD, CCL PM Prasad was the chief guest on the occasion. Director Technical ( operations) RB Prasad, Additional Director, Ministry of Environment, Forest & CC Rajeev Ranjan, DGM SBI N K Singh, General Manager/ HoD s of various departments and the employees of the company were also present during the program The dignitaries hoisted the “Environment Flag” on the occasion. Everybody present took a pledge to conserve the environment and protect biodiversity.
The message of Coal India Chairman Shri Pramod Agrawal was also read on the occasion. An Herbal Garden was inaugurated on the occasion by Mr. Prasad and other dignitaries, Plantation of various saplings in the garden was done on the occasion. Winners of various competitions organized on the eve were felicitated on the occasion.
Under the leadership of CMD, CCL the company is continually working towards sustainable mining and environment conservation Eco Parks are being established in the different operational areas of the company and widespread reforestation is being done. Speaking on the occasion the CMD said that World Environment Day helps create awareness about the importance of environment conservation. He further added that everybody should give utmost importance to Environment conservation so that future generations can enjoy the Flora and Fauna.
He stated that the company undertakes widespread reforestation for environment conservation in the areas, Director Technical (P&P) RB Prasad stated that the company is conscious of its responsibility towards the environment and along with Coal production, it continuously executes various programs for environmental protection and conservation. He further added that it is the duty of every citizen to be aware of their responsibility towards environment conservation. He added that it is our responsibility to future generations to preserve biodiversity.
The theme of for World Environment Day 2022 is “Only One Earth calls for collective, transformative action on a global scale to celebrate, protect and restore our plan” Central Coalfields Limited along with Coal India Limited is conscious of the significance of a clean environment and continually strives towards.
