Winter Session: Speaker asks MLAs to make most use of short session

Ranchi: Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Ravindranath Mahto has called upon the MLAs to make the most use of the Winter Session in the interest of the people. In his inaugural address he said that despite the session
being short was important in many aspects. He said that the elected representatives are the protectors of the parliamentary democracy as people have given them strength therefore that strength needed to be used honestly for the welfare of the state and country.

The Speaker said if they will remain committed towards the welfare of the people and will make positive efforts then they will be able to solve the problems of 3.25 crore people of Jharkhand. He said that that the tenure of the present assembly is for 60 months or 1825 days. 

He said that the tenure of the fifth Jharkhand Assembly has almost completed three years and if the numbers are taken into account then only 731 days are left. Mahto said that despite differences in ideology for all the members of the assembly welfare of the people of their constituency is the most important as ultimately it is the people who are supreme and they have given the strength to the legislators to be present inside the house, therefore, the MLAs should make maximum use of the tenure of the house in the welfare of the people.

The Speaker also extended his best wishes to the parties which had emerged victorious in the assembly elections of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. He said that the house had also organized a second students assembly and even organized a workshop over the centre and state relationship.
