Weather watch: Cloud cover expected on Friday, rains on Saturday

Ranchi:  The weather in the state capital is likely to take yet another turn as rainfall has been predicted for Saturday.

According to the local MET department on Thursday the weather had remained clear throughout the day however due to the winds coming from the southwest direction people had to face the chill and nip in the air.

The weather department has predicted that on Friday mild cloudcover is expected whereas on Saturday apart from light rainfall thunderstorm and lightning have been also predicted for some areas.

The weather department has issued a yellow alert for the North Western and Southern areas of the state. Scientist at the local weather department Abhishek Anand said that on February 5 and 6 the districts of Palamu Garhwa Chatra Koderma Latehar and Lohardaga might witness rainfall along with lightning while on February 6 the regions of Ranchi Bokaro Gumla Hazaribagh Khunti Ramgarh Chatra Koderma Lohardaga and districts falling under Kolhan and Palamu divisions might witness rainfall coupled with lightning and thunderstorms.

In the last 24 hours the weather in the state has remained normal and it was the district of Chaibasa that remained the hottest and also the coolest in the state as it recorded a maximum temperature of 28.8 degrees while the minimum was recorded at 7 degrees.
