We will have to work in team spirit to ensure that no voter is left out in the elections: K. Ravi Kumar

Ranchi. Chief Electoral Officer, Ravi Kumar on Saturday met the voters door-to-door in Ilahi Nagar, Sanjivani Nagar and Zakir Colony of the urban area under 64 Hatia assembly constituency of Ranchi to know their complaints and suggestions related to the matters related to the voter list.

He tried to know by interacting directly to the common voters whether any eligible voter is left out in their family and whether the BLOs are visiting their houses for verification. Also, have stickers been placed outside every house after voter verification?

Not only this, he also sat among the voters of an apartment and two slum areas and held a group discussion with them. Before the said visit, he held a review meeting in his meeting room with officials of Ranchi and key officials associated with their election work. K. Ravi Kumar said that every time it comes to notice that the voters of Ranchi do not vote in good percentage, it deserves serious consideration for the voters here, all the workers and office bearers connected with the election. 

He said that no voter should be left out in this election, for this purpose we have to work together with a team spirit. For this, the election department goes door-to-door to verify the voter list and add the eligible voters to the voter list and issue their identity cards. During today’s surprise visit,. K. Ravi Kumar met many voters and inquired whether their names and their relatives’ names are there in the voter’s list or not.

On this occasion, some voters told that they are eligible but till now their voter ID card has not been made, while some voters were also found whose voter ID card has been made of other state, district and assembly constituency  but has been in this area for a long time. Due to living in, are not able to exercise their vote. For all this, the Chief Electoral Officer directed the concerned officer to run a campaign for those whose names are not in the list. camps in such areas. 

During the review in the meeting room of his office premises, after seeing the slow work of voter verification in Ranchi, Hatia and Kanke assembly constituencies, he directed Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rahul Kumar Sinha to identify the areas where the officials are being negligent in the election work. Take immediate departmental action against them. Shri K Ravi Kumar said that those voters who have died in the voter list of urban areas and their name is still present in the list, their names should be deleted from the voter list on the basis of death certificate issued from the Municipal Corporation. .

He directed all the officials that no voter should be left out, names of all eligible voters should be registered in the list, Voter ID of all should be made, along with this, every voter should be verified whether the details of the voters are correct or not. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ranchi Mr. Rahul Kumar Sinha, OSD of Election Office Mrs. Geeta Choubey, district and block level officials and personnel associated with election work were present.
