We are all one and remain one – Governor

Ranchi:  Governor CP Radhakrishnan said that our country is full of diversity but there is unity in diversity. We are all one and will remain one. There is similarity in the concept and objectives of festivals and celebrations celebrated in different states of the country. 

Pongal festival is a festival to express gratitude towards nature, farmers and animals for crop production. Our farmers, like the sun, go out to the fields at the appointed time without any greed or greed. The focus of Sohrai and Tusu festivals is also the worship of nature, agriculture and animals, which are the basis of our life.

The Governor was speaking at a function jointly organized at Raj Bhavan on Sunday on the occasion of Pongal, Sohrai and Tusu festivals as well as the State Foundation Day of Tripura, Meghalaya and Manipur. He said that Tripura, Meghalaya and Manipur are situated in the lap of nature. They have a glorious history and a dignified legacy. They are full of cultural diversity.

The Governor said that under the Prime Minister’s ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ program, we are becoming aware of each other’s culture. The feeling of mutual harmony and coordination is also becoming stronger. The Governor called upon everyone to work together for the development of the country.

He said that it is the responsibility of all of us to commit and contribute towards ‘Developed India 2047’. During the programme, folk dances and songs were also presented by people from different states. Earlier, the Governor participated in the Pongal festival organized in the Statue Garden of Raj Bhawan and offered prayers. He wished everyone happiness and prosperity.
