Vikrant Massey, Medha Shankr Reunite to Read Deleted Scene from 12th Fail

Mumbai – The official screenplay of the acclaimed film 12th Fail will be released to the public on Friday.

As part of a special “Script to Screen” preview, audiences will get an inside look at the filmmaking journey, complete with commentary on how scenes evolved, creative decisions, and the collaborative efforts that shaped the final movie.

A highlight of the release is a previously unseen scene featuring Manoj (played by Vikrant Massey) and Shraddha (played by Medha Shankr), where Shraddha expresses her love to Manoj — a moment that didn’t make it into the final cut.

Reflecting on the scene, Vikrant Massey shared, “Reading this deleted scene with Medha brought back a wave of memories and emotions. We’re genuinely excited to share the screenplay with everyone. I hope it strikes a chord with film lovers and gives them a sense of the dedication the entire team poured into it.”

The team has also shared interesting behind-the-scenes insights — including moments of on-set improvisation and spontaneous actor input that added surprising emotional layers.

Medha Shankr said, “I’ll never forget the first time I held the script of 12th Fail. It felt like a defining moment. That memory is still vivid, and now, revisiting these scenes feels surreal. This film has deeply transformed my life. I hope the screenplay reaches someone who needs it. As I read the lines again, I instantly became Shraddha. Though the original version had more of her dialogue, I fully support the final edit — the emotional impact it delivers now is powerful and just right.”

The screenplay and bonus materials will be available on Vidhu Vinod Chopra Films’ official platforms starting June 3, 2025.
