Mumbai – Actress Vaani Kapoor, who is winning appreciation for her performance in the recently released streaming series Mandala Murders, believes that the more local a story is, the more global its reach can be.
Emphasizing the importance of authenticity, Vaani said: “Seeing Mandala Murders trend globally for three consecutive weeks has been incredibly surreal. I never imagined the kind of overwhelming response it would receive. I’m truly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported the show. This streaming debut is a deeply personal milestone for me, one that I will always cherish.”
Reflecting on its success, she added: “Mandala Murders was created with immense heart, and witnessing it resonate so strongly across borders is the most meaningful reward we could ask for. India has always been celebrated for its mythology and storytelling, and I feel this rootedness is what allows our content to connect deeply not only with Indian audiences but also with global viewers who are curious about our culture and identity.”
Mandala Murders is a mythological-crime thriller that marks Vaani Kapoor’s streaming debut and her first collaboration with filmmaker Gopi Puthran, known for the Mardaani franchise.
The series also stars Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Surveen Chawla, and Shriya Pilgaonkar, and is the second Netflix–YRF production following the global hit The Railway Men (2023).
Created and directed by Gopi Puthran, with Manan Rawat as co-director, Mandala Murders is produced by YRF Entertainment and is now streaming on Netflix.
