Mumbai: Actress Urvashi Rautela has spoken candidly about the intense personal and professional demands of her role in the upcoming film Kasoor 2, describing it as one of the most challenging performances of her career.

On the sidelines of the Red Sea International Film Festival, the actress shared insights into the rigorous preparation required for the supernatural drama. Urvashi explained that the role pushed her beyond her comfort zone, requiring immense emotional depth, mental resilience, and long, sleepless nights.

In an exclusive statement to IANS, she said, “This film presents me in a completely new and unseen avatar. Playing this character in Kasoor 2 demanded total immersion. It pushed me to my absolute limits, both emotionally and mentally. The process involved sleepless nights and intense preparation to do justice to the character.”

She further added that fully embodying the role meant letting go of herself entirely. “I had to surrender to the character, exploring her vulnerability and intensity in depth. Experiencing this journey and presenting it at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah has been truly transformative and unforgettable for me,” she said.

Urvashi Rautela was invited to Saudi Arabia to promote Kasoor 2, which is produced by Asif Shaikh under the banner of Practical Production Films and directed by Glen Barretto. The film also stars Aftab Shivdasani and Jassie Gill in pivotal roles.

Kasoor 2 is a sequel to the 2001 thriller Kasoor, directed by Vikram Bhatt, which featured Aftab Shivdasani and Lisa Ray in lead roles and went on to become a notable success.

Earlier this year, on his birthday on June 25, Aftab Shivdasani confirmed his return to the Kasoor franchise. Sharing pictures from the sets of Kasoor 2, he wrote that working on the film on his birthday was deeply meaningful and expressed gratitude for the love and blessings he has received from audiences over the years.
