Unruly mob destroys boundary wall of Eklavya Model school in Silangai of Ranchi, police remains spectator

Ranchi: An unruly mob of more than five thousand people destroyed the boundary wall of under construction Eklavya Model School being built in Silangai under Chanho block of this district on Monday and so set on fire four mixture machines and three water tankers.

Armed with hammers, iron bars and other traditional arms the mob executed the crime despite the fact that nearly 50 policemen including DSP Khelari Animesh Naithani were present on the spot but all of them remained mute spectators. Sources said that as part of a pre-planned conspiracy people in form of a bike procession reached Silangai from Mudma Jatratand. After reaching the spot all of them spread around the boundary wall and hit the wall from all sides due to which in less than half an hour it was completely destroyed.

Some of the men had brought kerosene with them which they later poured on the machines and set them on fire and easily went away from the spot along with indulging in slogan shouting. Near the memorial site for Shaheed Veer Budhu Bhagat on a piece of 20 acres of land an Eklavya Model School was being constructed however over the issue the tribal groups were divided into two parts. One group wanted the construction at the same spot while others said that instead of the spot for the memorial the school is constructed at any other place.
