Triptii Dimri: I’ve Experienced a Lot, But Chose Silence Over Speaking Out

Mumbai – Actress Triptii Dimri, who is currently preparing for the release of her upcoming film Dhadak 2, revealed that she has always been an introvert and has often stayed silent in situations where she could have spoken out.

In Dhadak 2, Triptii stars alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi as a couple fighting against caste discrimination in the name of love, offering a realistic portrayal of social issues.

Speaking about her character Vidhi, Triptii shared: “She’s unafraid to speak her truth. There’s so much to learn from her because she inspires a sense of empowerment.”

“I’ve always been an introvert. I’ve gone through a lot and seen many things, but I never spoke up against them,” Triptii admitted. “For 30 years of my life, I remained silent on so many issues. I never had the courage to tell people when something was wrong.”

She continued, “I told director Shazia [Iqbal] that I want to be like Vidhi — that by the end of this film, I should have the courage to speak my truth without fear of anyone or the consequences. And now, I do stand up for what’s right. This film helped me open up in a big way.”

Dhadak 2, directed by Shazia Iqbal, is set to release on August 1. A spiritual sequel to Dhadak, the romantic drama is a remake of the Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal.

Triptii has an exciting lineup ahead, including Vishal Bhardwaj’s next film with Shahid Kapoor and Spirit directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, opposite Prabhas.

She made her debut in a leading role with the 2018 romantic drama Laila Majnu, but earned critical acclaim for her performances in Anvita Dutt’s Bulbbul and Qala. Her popularity soared after her supporting role in the blockbuster Animal, and she has since featured in comedies like Bad Newz and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
