Mrunal Thakur Recalls Chance Elevator Meeting with ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’ Director

Mumbai – Actress Mrunal Thakur, who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Do Deewane Seher Mein, recently shared an interesting story about her first meeting with the film’s director, Ravi Udyawar.

Mrunal revealed that she met the director unexpectedly in the elevator of her new residential building, where her mother recognised him before she did.

Speaking about how she joined the project, the actress said she immediately agreed to be part of the film after hearing about it. “I met Ravi sir in the elevator of my new building shortly after shifting there. I was with my mother when she suddenly said, ‘Oh my God, I love the film MOM that you made.’ She recognised him before I could. I then told him that I admired his work and would love to collaborate with him someday. He smiled and suggested that we catch up,” she said.

Mrunal further shared that within a week, the director reached out to her with a proposal. “He messaged me asking about my schedule. I told him I was about to leave for Dubai but had around an hour and a half free. He invited me upstairs, saying he wanted to discuss something important. Kalpana ma’am was also there. I went straight up, even in my slippers. He told me they had a story for me. I asked him to narrate it in detail after hearing the one-line concept. The very next day, I visited his office, where Abhi and Ruchi narrated the complete script. I was instantly convinced and agreed to do the film. By April, we had already begun shooting,” she added.

The film also features Siddhant Chaturvedi and is produced by Zee Studios, Bhansali Productions, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Prerna Singh, Umesh Kumar Bansal, and Bharat Kumar Ranga in association with Ravi Udyawar Films. Do Deewane Seher Mein is scheduled to release around Valentine’s week on February 20, 2026.
