Suspect Arrested in Ramgarh Before Crime; Police Recover Illegal 9mm Pistol

Ramgarh: Acting on confidential intelligence, the Ramgarh police successfully arrested a suspected criminal before he could carry out a planned offence. The operation was conducted under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Lunayat, whose strategy-driven and discreet policing approach led to the breakthrough.

According to officials, on the evening of April 26, 2026, around 8:00 PM, the SP received a tip-off that a man identified as Anish Ansari, a resident of Solia village under Patratu police station limits, was moving around with illegal arms. Taking swift action, a raiding team was formed under SDPO Patratu Raghavendra Sharma.

The team reached Solia village and detained the suspect for questioning. During interrogation, Ansari revealed the location of the weapon, leading police to recover a prohibited 9mm pistol, reportedly manufactured by Turkey-based Zigana.

Police sources stated that the accused confessed the weapon had been handed to him by an active member of the Rahul Dubey gang after being used in a firing incident, and was kept for safekeeping.

A case has been registered at Patratu police station (Case No. 101/2026) under relevant sections of the Arms Act, including 25(1A), 25(18)a, 25(6), 26, and 35.

Anish Ansari (35), son of Tahir Ansari, resident of Solia village, Patratu, Ramgarh.

Seized Item:

  • One 9mm Zigana pistol (Turkey-made)

Criminal Background:
The accused is also linked to a previous case registered at Patratu police station in 2021 under multiple IPC sections, including extortion, assault, and criminal intimidation.

The successful operation has drawn appreciation for the SDPO and the entire police team involved, including officers and armed personnel from Patratu and Bhadanagar units.
